Job Overview:
The Protection from Violence Officer will be responsible for implementing NRC's Protection from Violence (PfV) interventions in the Khersonska oblast, specifically from the Kherson field office. This role involves providing essential services such as Individual Protection Assistance, protection referrals, counseling, and monitoring. The officer will work closely with the PfV Coordinator and the PfV Manager, receiving technical support from the country-level PfV Specialist. The position requires a client-centered approach to ensure that interventions are tailored to the needs of the most vulnerable populations, while adhering to internal and global standards of protection.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the Protection from Violence Officer include:
  • Delivering Individual Protection Assistance, including in-kind support and cash assistance, to individuals at risk.
  • Conducting safe referrals to specialized service providers and ensuring accurate service mapping.
  • Performing protection monitoring activities in line with NRC guidelines.
  • Assisting collective sites with essential non-food items (NFI) and supporting self-management efforts.
  • Enabling a protective environment in collective sites through training and protection mainstreaming activities.
  • Identifying and assessing local civil society organizations (CSOs) for potential partnerships.
  • Coordinating with implementing partners and conducting regular field visits and monitoring.
  • Analyzing the operational context and suggesting adjustments to the protection program.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of 1-2 years of professional experience, preferably in the humanitarian sector, with documented results related to the position's responsibilities. Strong reporting skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook are essential. A working knowledge of English, both written and verbal, is mandatory. Additionally, candidates should have previous experience working with vulnerable populations and a commitment to providing protection assistance according to best practices.

Educational Background:
