Job Overview: The GBV Information ManagementAnalyst position is crucial for the UNFPA Cameroon country office, particularly in the context of the project "Woman eh, wuna place dey!" which aims to enhance GBV prevention and response in the North West and South West regions of Cameroon. The Analyst will serve as a key technical resource responsible for the collection, analysis, and dissemination of GBV data and information. This role involves supporting the development and implementation of data collection tools, engaging in robust analyses of GBV data, and contributing to evidence-based programming and planning. The Analyst will also play a significant role in monitoring and evaluating GBV programs to ensure their effectiveness and accountability. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and the integration of GBV data into broader humanitarian and development analyses, ultimately contributing to the achievement of SDG 5 and the implementation of national frameworks to end GBV.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the GBV Information Management Analyst include: A. Supporting the collection, analysis, monitoring, and dissemination of GBV data by developing and implementing data collection tools, engaging in analyses of GBV data to identify trends and gaps, and producing information management products such as dashboards and service mappings. B. Supporting the management and utilization of GBV information systems by providing technical support for the GBV Information Management System (GBVIMS), ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality, and developing Information Sharing Protocols (ISPs). C. Contributing to GBV assessments and knowledge generation by supporting the planning and analysis of GBV-related assessments and disseminating findings to inform programming. D. Capacity building and coordination by providing training to GBV actors, fostering communication among stakeholders, and participating in coordination meetings. E. Project support by providing M&E data for project monitoring, preparing reports, and contributing to project reviews and evaluations to inform decision-making and adaptive management.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for the GBV Information Management Analyst position include a Master’s degree in Information Management Systems, Public Health, Demography, Statistics, Sociology, Social Work, or another social science. Specific training in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and information management related to GBV is highly desirable. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in information management and M&E, including experience with secondary data reviews and reporting in humanitarian contexts. Demonstrated experience in GBV information management and familiarity with GBVIMS is essential. Knowledge of Result-Based Management (RBM) frameworks and tools is also highly desirable, along with a survivor-centered approach to GBV programming.
Educational Background: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Information Management Systems, Public Health, Demography, Statistics, Sociology, Social Work, or another social science. Additional training or certifications in monitoring and evaluation (M&E) and information management specific to GBV are highly desirable and will enhance a candidate's profile for this position.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in information management and monitoring and evaluation, particularly in relation to GBV. Candidates should have demonstrated experience working with data management in humanitarian settings, including familiarity with GBV information management systems and reporting frameworks. Experience within the Protection Cluster or GBV or Child Protection Area of Responsibility is considered a significant asset, as is experience with Result-Based Management (RBM) frameworks and tools. Candidates should also have a proven ability to analyze data and statistics for humanitarian operations.
Languages: Fluency in both French and English is required for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, but the primary requirement is strong communication skills in these two languages to effectively engage with diverse stakeholders and partners in the field.
