Job Overview: The UN Volunteer position is designed to support the programming and operational functions of the UN-Habitat Bangkok Multi-Country Programme Office. The role encompasses a variety of tasks related to human settlement development, including responding to government requests for innovative project development and technical support. The volunteer will also engage in normative activities, advocating for increased support to the urban sector, documenting best practices for policy guidance, and campaigning for sustainable urbanization. Duties and Responsibilities: The UN Volunteer will undertake a range of tasks under the direct supervision of the Chief of the UN-Habitat Bangkok Multi-Country Programme Office. Key responsibilities include: assisting in the preparation of draft concept papers, background documents, and policy papers; supporting the development of project concept notes, policy briefs, and supplementary documents for resource mobilization and event coordination; identifying funding and collaboration opportunities; facilitating communication and information management among county-level partners and regional stakeholders; contributing to the management of websites and social media, as well as drafting newsletters; assisting in the preparation, implementation, and follow-up of regional workshops; aiding in the design of context-specific resources and materials; providing translation and interpretation support as needed; and undertaking other assignments as required to develop and implement the work programme of the Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP).
