Job Overview:
The position of Consultant(e) national(e), Analyste en communication et gestion des connaissance involves supporting the development of a Strategic Development Plan for the Mining Sector in Chad. The consultant will be expected to engage in various communication and knowledge management activities that facilitate the effective implementation of the strategic plan. This role requires a deep understanding of the mining sector in Chad, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders, including government officials, local communities, and international partners. The consultant will work for a total of 45 effective working days over a period of 3 months, contributing to the strategic planning process and ensuring that knowledge is effectively managed and disseminated throughout the project.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Consultant(e) national(e), Analyste en communication et gestion des connaissance include:
  • Conducting a comprehensive analysis of the current state of the mining sector in Chad, identifying key challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to gather insights and data necessary for the development of the Strategic Development Plan.
  • Developing communication strategies that promote stakeholder engagement and awareness of the strategic plan.
  • Facilitating workshops and meetings with stakeholders to discuss findings and gather feedback.
  • Creating reports and documentation that summarize findings and recommendations for the strategic plan.
  • Ensuring that knowledge management practices are integrated into the project, including the documentation of lessons learned and best practices.
  • Providing ongoing support and advice to the UNDP team throughout the project duration.
  • Submitting deliverables in a timely manner as per the project timeline.

Required Qualifications:
The required qualifications for this position include:
  • A strong background in communication, knowledge management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in the mining sector, particularly in Chad or similar contexts.
  • Excellent analytical and research skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear and actionable recommendations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in project management and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Familiarity with UNDP processes and procedures is an asset.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a minimum of a Master's degree in communication, social sciences, development studies, or a related field. Additional certifications or training in knowledge management or project management would be advantageous.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of relevant professional experience in communication, knowledge management, or a related field, with a specific focus on the mining sector. Experience working with international organizations, particularly in a consulting capacity, is highly desirable.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in Chad. Proficiency in English is considered an asset, as it may facilitate communication with international stakeholders and partners.

Additional Notes:
This position is for an individual contractor and is expected to last for a duration of 45 effective working days over a period of 3 months. The consultant will be required to submit their proposals directly through the UNDP supplier portal by the specified deadline. The position is not full-time, and the consultant will work on a flexible schedule based on project needs. Compensation details will be discussed during the selection process.
