Job Overview: The Community Health Communications and Advocacy Consultant will support UNICEF's Community Health Unit and the Community Health Delivery Partnership (CHDP) by coordinating communication and advocacy efforts. The consultant will engage with various stakeholders, including governments, private and public sector audiences, implementing partners, and donors. The role is crucial for advancing community health and nutrition priorities, particularly for vulnerable populations such as women and children. The consultant will produce communication materials, enhance visibility for resource mobilization, and ensure effective documentation of impact. This position requires collaboration with other teams within UNICEF to ensure cohesive efforts across workstreams and to maintain robust visibility around UNICEF's initiatives in community health and nutrition.
Duties and Responsibilities: The consultant's responsibilities include developing key messages and advocacy materials, organizing global coordination and advocacy efforts for high-level events, and liaising with partners on communication matters. Specific tasks involve creating digital content for social media, producing communication materials for key events, contributing to high-quality briefing materials, and maintaining communication platforms. The consultant will also coordinate the work of the CHDP Technical Working Group, manage mailing lists, and update the CHDP website regularly. Additionally, the consultant will produce newsletters, maintain a calendar of events, and ensure that all communication resources are current and accessible.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, with a strong ability to synthesize information for high-level communication. Experience in organizing communication for high-level events and working with health ministries is essential. Familiarity with global community health and public health communications is required, along with strong diplomacy skills and the ability to work independently and in teams. A proactive attitude and a positive approach to problem-solving are also necessary.
Experience: Candidates should have at least 6 years of relevant experience in communication, advocacy, and stakeholder engagement, particularly in the context of community health and nutrition.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset but is not specified as a requirement.
