Job Overview: The intern will be positioned within the Office of the Director at the Financing for Sustainable Development Office, where they will report directly to the Special Assistant to the Director. The intern will assist in preparing background materials for official events and meetings, which is critical for ensuring that the Director is well-prepared for engagements with UN Senior Officials and other stakeholders. Duties and Responsibilities: The intern will have a variety of responsibilities that include supporting the Director with daily background materials needed for official events and meetings. They will assist in the preparation and submission of speeches, talking points, and background notes for UN Senior Officials on financing for development matters. The intern will also support the organization of meetings, events, and conferences related to Financing for Development, which involves logistical planning and coordination. Additionally, the intern will be responsible for scheduling the Director’s meetings and official missions, ensuring that all appointments are managed efficiently. Attending meetings, preparing draft follow-up emails, and summarizing discussions will also be part of the role. The intern will monitor follow-up activities as appropriate and work collaboratively with branches and IT focal points to keep the FSDO website updated. Furthermore, the intern will perform ad hoc requests as needed, demonstrating flexibility and responsiveness to the office's needs.
Required Qualifications: Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent); (c) Applicants to the UN internship-programme" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience, but a field of study closely related to the internship is required; (d) Applicants must be a student in the final year of the first university degree (bachelor or equivalent), Master’s or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent, or have completed a Bachelor’s, Master’s or Ph.D. Programme. Additionally, applicants should possess strong organizational skills, effective communication skills, a collaborative team-oriented approach, a client-driven mindset, and a demonstrated interest in the work of the United Nations.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes being enrolled in or having completed a graduate school programme, or being in the final year of a first university degree programme. This means that candidates should ideally have a minimum of a bachelor's degree or equivalent.
