Job Overview:
The Programme Analyst position is crucial for the effective implementation and coordination of UNFPA's programs in Northeast Syria. The incumbent will work closely with various stakeholders, including humanitarian and development agencies, government bodies, and partner organizations, to ensure that program interventions are effectively managed, monitored, and evaluated. The role requires a deep understanding of the political, social, and economic landscape in Syria, particularly in the context of the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The Programme Analyst will contribute to the design and planning of UNFPA's country program, ensuring that it aligns with the organization's strategic goals and responds to the urgent needs of the population. Duties and Responsibilities:
The Programme Analyst will be responsible for monitoring project and program activities, establishing mechanisms to assess results, conducting field visits, and participating in review meetings. They will analyze factors affecting program outcomes and recommend corrective actions as necessary. The role includes contributing to knowledge creation by documenting findings, success stories, and best practices, as well as supporting advocacy and resource mobilization efforts. The Programme Analyst will maintain a network of contacts for donor and public information, analyze the political and social environment relevant to population and development, and provide inputs for various planning and reporting documents. Additionally, they will coordinate the implementation of sexual and reproductive health (SRH), gender-based violence (GBV), and youth activities in alignment with local priorities and UNFPA policies. The Programme Analyst will also work closely with the communications team to convey advocacy messages and identify knowledge gaps for capacity development.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a strong commitment to the UN and UNFPA's mandate, particularly in relation to gender and sexual and reproductive health issues in emergency contexts. A minimum of two years of relevant professional experience in humanitarian program implementation and monitoring is required. Candidates should have excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office applications, and a strong understanding of women's rights. Experience working with UN agencies is preferred, as is field experience in integrating gender and reproductive health issues in post-conflict settings.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree (minimum Master's Degree or equivalent) in Social Science, Health, Nursing, or Midwifery is required for this position. This educational background is essential to understand the complexities of the issues addressed by UNFPA and to effectively contribute to program design and implementation.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the implementation and monitoring of humanitarian programs. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to the UNFPA mandate and possess field experience in addressing gender and reproductive health issues in emergency and post-conflict contexts.

Languages:
Fluency in both oral and written English and Arabic is essential. Candidates must be able to write clearly and concisely and compose correspondence and documents in both languages, which is crucial for effective communication and reporting in this role.
