Job Overview: The Field Coordinator position is crucial for monitoring and facilitating the implementation of the Child Survival and Development (CSD) program at the governorate level in Egypt. The consultant will work closely with various partners, including the Ministry of Health and Population (MOHP), NGOs, and community leaders, to enhance the capacity of healthcare providers and empower communities. The role involves regular field visits to monitor child rights and oversee health, nutrition, early childhood development (ECD), and WASH interventions. The Field Coordinator will also be responsible for ensuring that the CSD program aligns with national reform priorities and meets the needs of targeted communities.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Field Coordinator will have a wide range of responsibilities, including:
Conducting regular field visits to monitor and supervise project activities related to health, nutrition, ECD, and WASH.
Facilitating coordination among various stakeholders at the governorate, district, and community levels.
Training service providers on maternal and newborn health, infant and young child feeding, and WASH practices.
Supporting community volunteers in disseminating health and nutrition awareness messages.
Monitoring the quality of services provided and assisting partners in implementing quality improvement initiatives.
Preparing and maintaining program records and ensuring compliance with UNICEF requirements.
Participating in monthly meetings with partners to manage the program effectively.
Documenting success stories and challenges faced during implementation.
Supporting the orientation of target facilities on interventions and conducting needs assessments. 1
Ensuring timely reporting and data management for program activities.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Bachelor's degree in fields such as General Medicine, Public Health, Nutrition, Pediatric Health, Family Health, or related areas. An MBA in a health or environment-related field is an asset. Additionally, candidates should have at least 5 years of experience in primary health care systems, including management of nutrition and health programs, quality control, data management, and monitoring and evaluation. Familiarity with government systems and services is essential, along with excellent project management skills and the ability to work under stress and resolve conflicts. Experience with international organizations or donor-supported programs is highly desirable.
Educational Background: A Bachelor's degree in relevant fields such as General Medicine, Public Health, Nutrition, Pediatric Health, Family Health, Health Research, Global Health, Health Policy, Environmental Health Sciences, or related technical fields is required. An MBA in a related field is considered an asset.
Experience: The position requires at least 5 years of considerable experience in primary health care systems, particularly in managing nutrition and health programs. Candidates should have field experience in quality control, data management, monitoring, and evaluation. Familiarity with public health, nutrition, ECD, and WASH programs is advantageous, as is experience working with government systems and services.
Languages: Fluency in both written and spoken Arabic and English is mandatory. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for effective interaction with stakeholders and community members.
Additional Notes: This is a full-time field-based assignment requiring frequent presence in the field within the assigned governorates of Cairo and North Sinai. The consultant will be expected to operate during full working hours and will be compensated for required field travels outside the assigned governorate. Payments will be made upon satisfactory delivery of reports based on the agreed work plan. The role involves a participatory approach, engaging multiple stakeholders to share knowledge and insights.
