Job Overview: The position of Asociado/a de Programas is crucial for supporting the strategic activities related to resilience and climate change within vulnerable communities. The role involves programmatic and operational support, particularly in managing information to consolidate activities that contribute to building resilience and strengthening livelihoods against climate variability and change. The incumbent will assist in formulating proposals, characterizing communities, designing and structuring resilience projects, and implementing productive projects. This position requires a proactive approach to technical support for adaptation measures, capacity strengthening, and technical follow-up, ensuring that the programs align with WFP's mission and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The professional will be responsible for the following activities and functions:
Monitoring climate change programs and projects related to productive reconversion and sustainable livelihoods in vulnerable urban-rural communities, ensuring alignment with WFP regulations.
Supporting teams in the national office and field in developing livelihood programs, climate change initiatives, and resilience projects, ensuring quality and compliance with work plans.
Assisting in financial monitoring of contributions, ensuring timely resource execution and generating alerts when necessary.
Generating financial and narrative reports, presentations, and serving as a focal point with donors.
Coordinating with WFP units such as Monitoring, Finance, and Budget, and participating in coordination spaces.
Developing participatory instruments and methodologies for community engagement, ensuring implementation and evidence generation.
Coordinating affirmative actions in programs to promote equitable access for women and men to decision-making spaces and food markets.
Facilitating methodologies to strengthen execution instruments with implementing partners, particularly in productive reconversion and ecological restoration.
Conducting field visits related to projects and unit actions. 1
Incorporating gender and protection analysis into livelihood activities. 1
Acting as a liaison with local, regional, or national institutions for territorial coordination of unit projects. 1

Required Qualifications: Minimum requirements include completion of secondary education. A professional degree in agricultural sciences, environmental economics, or related fields is desirable. A postgraduate degree or two additional years of equivalent experience in international cooperation, project development, sustainable tourism, and productive reconversion is also preferred. Specific experience includes at least six years in implementing and monitoring development projects, with a minimum of two years in strengthening agricultural livelihoods with small producers, indigenous communities, and sustainable tourism. Proficiency in computer use and office applications is required, along with experience in budget management for project development.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes the completion of secondary education, with a preference for a professional degree in relevant fields such as agricultural sciences, environmental economics, or related areas. A postgraduate degree is desirable, along with two additional years of relevant experience in international cooperation and project development.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of six years of professional experience in the implementation and monitoring of development projects, with at least two years specifically focused on strengthening agricultural livelihoods among small producers and vulnerable communities. Experience in knowledge management, documentation of best practices, and database management is essential. Familiarity with budget management for project development is also required.
Languages: Fluency in Spanish is mandatory, while proficiency in English is desirable. This language requirement is crucial for effective communication within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Additional Notes: The contract type is a Service Contract with a duration of six months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability. The position is classified at the SC6 remuneration level. The role is based in Bogotá, Colombia, but there is a focus on establishing a roster of qualified candidates for future opportunities in other locations as operational needs arise.
