Job Overview: The Project Analyst position is a critical role within the Trade and Supply Chain Division (TSCD) of the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) at ADB. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the middle and back office operations of the Trade and Supply Chain Finance Program (TSCFP). This includes processing various trade and supply chain transactions such as guarantee issuances, loan disbursements, risk participation, and risk transfer transactions. The Project Analyst will also be tasked with drafting outgoing SWIFT messages related to these transactions and ensuring that all necessary sanctions screening and compliance checks are performed. The role requires close collaboration with multiple departments within ADB to ensure that all transactions are processed accurately and efficiently, meeting internal deadlines and client commitments. Additionally, the Project Analyst will contribute to system enhancements and automation projects, providing operational expertise and participating in user acceptance testing.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Analyst include:
Processing trade and supply chain transactions, including guarantee issuances, loan disbursements, risk participation, and risk transfer transactions.
Drafting outgoing SWIFT messages related to guarantee issuances, amendments, payments, and cancellations.
Confirming that external and internal sanctions screening is performed for each transaction, and checking against ADB's Excluded Goods and Commodities List.
Verifying that limits are reconciled in the TSCFP system and in Excel spreadsheets, ensuring no limits are breached for each guarantee issuance or loan disbursement processed.
Ensuring completeness of documentation and accuracy of information in the TSCFP system, securing relevant approvals for each transaction.
Coordinating with various departments, including Controller's, Treasury, and IT, to address transaction-related issues and ensure internal cutoff times are met.
Performing user acceptance testing for system enhancements and integration requirements related to transaction processing.
Contributing to automation projects and providing operational expertise on system enhancements related to portfolio management, including defining business and integration requirements and user acceptance testing.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Project Analyst position will possess the following qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, economics, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in trade and supply chain finance.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel, for data management and reporting.
Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in processing transactions and documentation.
Familiarity with ADB's Competency Framework for Technical Local Staff grade 3 (TL3) is preferred.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as accounting, finance, business administration, or economics. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate has the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding complex financial transactions and trade operations.
