Job Overview: The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all projects are equipped with effective monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning systems that are regularly updated and tailored to the program's needs. This role involves integrating relevant indicators into these systems to measure each project's contribution to overall objectives. Additionally, the position entails providing technical advice to the program team and directly supervising MEAL staff. The coordinator is tasked with building the capacity of staff through training, mentoring, coaching, and ongoing supervision. They actively contribute to improving monitoring practices, utilizing data for decision-making, and adhering to the standards set forth in RI Chad's country strategy. Duties and Responsibilities:

Ensure that detailed and feasible monitoring plans are in place, including indicator matrices, ethical and secure data collection methods, quality audits, data storage, and sharing. Collaborate with program managers to define appropriate data collection and analysis methods for the context. Conduct learning reviews at the end of projects and ensure documentation and dissemination of best practices and lessons learned. Organize inter-sectoral sharing events, such as learning bazaars, to promote capitalization and continuous improvement. Supervise the conduct of diagnostic studies, evaluations, and surveys.
Monitoring and Evaluation (25%): Support monthly and annual project planning, integrating MEAL activities. Develop, test, and validate data collection tools in collaboration with MEAL agents. Design methodologies and tools for specific surveys and studies. Establish and manage databases for project monitoring. Ensure regular data entry and quality processing. Conduct quality audits of data and document results to ensure traceability. Organize internal performance reviews to draw lessons on implementation processes.
Information Management and Reporting (20%): Contribute to data analysis during planning meetings, comparing results to set objectives and milestones. Systematically document project learnings and make them accessible to all staff. Ensure coherent integration of data into existing platforms and databases.
Capacity Building (25%): Train staff on data collection, analysis, management, and utilization methods for better decision-making. Provide technical support for the recruitment and integration of MEAL staff and enumerators.
Other Responsibilities: Perform any other tasks related to their skills and role, as requested by management or according to program needs.
Required Qualifications: - University degree in statistics, social sciences, development economics, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector, ideally within a MEAL department.
- Proven skills in monitoring and evaluation, including managing multi-sectoral projects funded by various donors.
- Demonstrated experience in qualitative and quantitative data collection and analysis.
- Mastery of developing monitoring plans, information management, and performance measurement tools.
- Experience in capacity building and training staff.
- Strong understanding of humanitarian accountability principles.
- Skills in planning, coordination, analysis, presentation, and reporting.
- Excellent proficiency in data management software tools: Excel, Access, Kobo, SPSS, Power BI, etc.
- Strong adherence to the values and mission of Relief International.
Educational Background: A university degree in statistics, social sciences, development economics, or a related field is required for this position. This educational background is essential as it provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding complex data analysis and evaluation methodologies that are critical in the humanitarian sector.
Experience: The position requires 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the humanitarian or development sector, with a strong preference for candidates who have worked specifically in a MEAL department.
