Job Overview: The Senior Program Manager (SPM) will play a crucial role in supporting both program operations and financial functions for a significant initiative focused on introducing innovative diagnostic products in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). The SPM will work closely with the Global Diagnostics Team (GDT) to manage overall program operations, including grant and financial management. This position requires a highly motivated individual with exceptional project and relationship management skills, as well as a strong background in financial management. The SPM will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with donors and partners, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across teams. The role is flexible in terms of location, pending approval from country leadership, and may involve travel within the US and internationally.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Senior Program Manager will have a comprehensive set of responsibilities, including:
Grant and Donor Management: - Implement proven project management strategies to enhance team performance and delivery effectiveness. - Develop and utilize project management tools to track the team's work and deliverables. - Communicate effectively with internal and external partners to present updates on grants and finances. - Manage the production of grant deliverables globally, including donor reports and presentations for external meetings. - Develop and manage contracts with consultants and partners, ensuring coordination of follow-up, reporting, invoicing, and payments. - Organize and host high-level calls with partner organizations and lead the planning of project meetings. - Maintain organized online project documentation and files. - Perform additional responsibilities as requested by supervisors and program directors.
Financial Management: - Lead the development of annual program budgets, forecasts, and reforecasts in collaboration with program and finance teams. - Monitor project expenditures monthly to ensure alignment with donor budgets and internal forecasts. - Prepare and review financial reports for internal and donor submission, ensuring compliance with donor regulations and internal policies. - Support donor and internal audits by ensuring proper documentation and risk mitigation strategies are in place. - Handle other finance responsibilities, including the development of budget proposals and presentations to executive leadership.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess at least 7 years of experience in grant and financial management, with a preference for experience in non-profit organizations. They should have demonstrated experience in managing donor-funded projects and a strong command of financial systems, budgeting tools, and compliance requirements for international grants. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, is essential. Experience in medical diagnostics within LMICs is preferred. Candidates should also have excellent written and oral communication skills, be detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills, and be able to thrive in high-pressure situations within a fast-paced, multicultural environment.
