Job Overview: The ET Temporary- Driver and Facilities Assistant position at the World Bank in La Paz, Bolivia, is designed to provide high-quality transport and administrative support to the Country Office. The role involves driving the official vehicle for the Country Manager and other authorized personnel, ensuring timely execution of the Country Manager's agenda. The position also includes responsibilities related to vehicle maintenance, office correspondence delivery, and general administrative tasks. The successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Assistant and the Office Facilities Coordinator to ensure smooth operations within the office. This role is crucial for supporting the Country Office's mission and facilitating effective communication and logistics.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties of the Driver and Facilities Assistant include: driving the official vehicle safely for the transport of the Country Manager and other authorized personnel; maintaining and cleaning the assigned vehicle; logging trips, mileage, and fuel consumption; delivering local office correspondence; collecting mail from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs; handling office document tasks such as photocopying and scanning; supporting diplomatic pouch operations; ensuring office printers are stocked; assisting with internal office moves; monitoring and managing physical assets; performing simple repairs; providing transport support during emergencies; and ensuring compliance with safety protocols during incidents.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a high school diploma and a valid driver’s license (Category 'C'). A minimum of 10 years of professional driving experience is required, along with a good knowledge of roadways and traffic regulations in La Paz. A safe driving record and excellent references regarding road safety practices are essential. Experience working with international agencies or diplomats is highly desirable. Candidates should have good communication skills in Spanish, with knowledge of English being an asset. Basic computer skills and familiarity with office equipment are also necessary. The candidate must demonstrate flexibility, a willingness to work after hours, and the ability to perform a variety of tasks as needed.
