Job Overview:
The consultancy position of Database Administrator is crucial for the IAEA's Division of Information Technology, which provides comprehensive support in information and communication technology (ICT). The consultant will be responsible for providing technical advice and expertise to enhance core Database services, focusing on the planning and migration of legacy services to modern platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of Microsoft SQL Server and its associated components, as well as the ability to develop and maintain standards for database management. The consultant will work closely with various teams to ensure that database services are efficient, secure, and aligned with the organization's operational requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will undertake a variety of duties, including reviewing the current Database Services deployment and standards for both on-premises and cloud environments. They will ensure that all documentation related to Database standards is current and accessible, and will develop any missing documentation as necessary. The consultant will support major migration projects involving SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and Power BI, and will collaborate with the Architecture team to establish a robust architecture for Database services. Additionally, they will review Database Administration processes, suggest improvements, and identify opportunities for automation using the IAEA's standard automation stack. The consultant will also work with relevant teams to identify data owners and develop methods for tagging data ownership, which will facilitate automation and reporting. They will support the implementation of comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems for Microsoft SQL-based solutions and ensure that all documentation complies with the ISO27001 standard and standard operating procedures. Finally, the consultant will provide expert guidance to clients regarding IAEA Database service standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7 years of experience in IT operations with a primary focus on Database Services is required. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Microsoft SQL Server, including its design, implementation, configuration, and administration. Experience with complex migrations and updates of Database Services is essential, as is the ability to troubleshoot complex problems across teams and understand the interactions between Database services and related applications.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Technology, IT Security, or Engineering is mandatory for this position. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of database management and ICT systems.

Experience:
