Job Overview: As a Project Officer (Urban Development) at ADB, you will play a crucial role in the processing and administration of loans, grants, and technical assistance (TAs) related to urban development projects. Your responsibilities will include capacity building, project administration, and portfolio management, as well as liaising with government and development partners to resolve issues related to urban sector projects. You will be based in the Pakistan Resident Mission in Islamabad and will report to both the Technical International staff or Director of the Water and Urban Development Sector Office and the Country Director on administrative matters. This position requires a proactive approach to engage with various stakeholders, including government agencies and private sector partners, to ensure the successful implementation of projects. You will also be involved in monitoring project progress, preparing reports, and providing advice on procurement and financial management, ensuring that projects align with ADB's guidelines and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Project Officer (Urban Development) include administering loans and grants, implementing TAs in the water and urban development sector, and leading or contributing to the processing of new loans and grants. You will undertake work planning and delivery for assigned projects, monitor project progress through field missions, and prepare forecasts of contract awards and disbursements. Additionally, you will identify and address issues through interactions with executing and implementing agencies, contractors, and project beneficiaries. You will prepare and review documentation for loan extensions, reallocations, and changes in project scope. Providing advice to government agencies on ADB guidelines related to procurement and financial management is also a key responsibility. You will collaborate with other sector offices within ADB and participate in project reviews and donor coordination efforts. Furthermore, you will assist in formulating and implementing the Country Partnership Strategy and contribute to sector work by conducting research and preparing knowledge products.
