Job Overview: The Facilitator for the Kids Connect program will work part-time in Katherine, delivering targeted support to primary school-aged children who are struggling socially and academically. This role involves creating a safe and nurturing environment where children can practice positive behaviors and receive consistent reinforcement. The facilitator will be responsible for preparing and evaluating sessions, maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, and fostering the well-being of every child referred to the program. Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Facilitator include delivering Kids Connect sessions to primary school children in the designated geographical area, preparing and evaluating the effectiveness of these sessions, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders, including school staff, families, and the community. The facilitator will also be responsible for fostering maximum well-being for every child referred to the program, ensuring that each child's unique needs are addressed. Additionally, the role requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while developing and maintaining respectful relationships with parents, carers, and children, particularly those from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander or Culturally and Linguistically Diverse backgrounds.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate should possess a qualification in Social Work, Early Childhood, or a relevant field, or have equivalent experience. Experience working with children and families is essential, along with cultural and community knowledge. A NT Driver’s Licence and a Working with Children Check (OCHRE Card) are also required for this position.
