Job Overview: The Regional Communications Senior Specialist position is designed to enhance the visibility of the Andean Group Department within the IDB Group. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the Regional Communications Senior Specialist include serving as a strategic advisor to senior management, ensuring consistent messaging across all communications, and managing relationships with media outlets. The specialist will lead the development of a comprehensive regional communication strategy, provide leadership to communications teams, and shape communication strategies during crises. Additionally, the role involves creating high-quality content for various platforms, managing media interactions, and fostering collaboration among regional communication teams to strengthen the IDB’s presence and influence in the Andean region.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, international development, or a related field. They should have a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role in communications or external affairs. Experience in a multilateral development bank or in developing regions is preferred, along with a strong understanding of the socio-political dynamics in the Andean countries.
Educational Background: A Master’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, journalism, marketing, or international development is required for this position. This educational background is essential to ensure that the candidate possesses the necessary theoretical knowledge and practical skills to excel in the role.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience, with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Candidates should have a proven track record in strategic communications, media relations, and content creation, particularly in the context of national or international organizations. Experience working in the Andean countries is highly valued, as it provides insight into the regional dynamics and stakeholder relationships.
Languages: Proficiency in English and Spanish, both spoken and written, is mandatory for this position. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is considered a plus, enhancing the candidate's ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences in the region.
Additional Notes: The position is offered as an international staff contract for an initial duration of 36 months, with the possibility of renewal upon mutual agreement.
