Job Overview:
The Gender Analyst position at UNFPA involves providing technical support to integrate a gender lens into various initiatives, ensuring that programming is culturally sensitive and adheres to a human rights-based approach. The role requires maintaining collaborative relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government bodies, NGOs, civil society, and international organizations. The Gender Analyst will work closely with national analysts and other personnel in the Cotabato Sub-Office, reporting directly to the Head of Sub-office. The position is crucial for advancing gender equality and addressing gender-based violence (GBV) in the Philippines, particularly in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM). The Gender Analyst will contribute to the implementation of laws and policies aimed at protecting women's rights and ensuring their access to essential services, while also advocating for the integration of GBV prevention measures across various sectors.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Gender Analyst will be responsible for a wide range of duties, including: providing technical support to GBV prevention and response structures; leading the development of evidence-based multi-sectoral prevention and response plans; promoting safe collection and analysis of GBV-related data; establishing inter-agency protection mechanisms; advocating for the mainstreaming of GBV measures across different sectors; mobilizing resources for GBV initiatives; linking emergency interventions with regular development initiatives; ensuring a gender-responsive approach in design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation; reviewing work plans of local government units to integrate gender and human rights; representing UNFPA in inter-agency meetings; documenting good practices; and performing other duties as assigned by senior management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced degree in a relevant field such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women's studies, public health, public administration, international relations, or law. Additionally, candidates should have up to two years of relevant work experience in development work, gender and development, social work, or public health, preferably at the local government or community level. Experience in gender-based violence prevention and response in both normal and humanitarian settings is advantageous, as is prior experience in developing and monitoring work plans. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with proficiency in MS Office applications, are essential for this role.

Educational Background:
An advanced degree in a field relevant to UNFPA's mandate is required. This includes disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women's studies, public health, public administration, international relations, or law. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding gender issues and the complexities of development work.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have up to two years of relevant work experience. This experience should ideally encompass areas such as development work, gender and development, social work, public health, and gender equality initiatives. Experience in gender-based violence prevention and response in both normal and humanitarian contexts is particularly valuable, as is familiarity with developing and implementing work plans.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Filipino is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly in the context of working with diverse communities in the Philippines.
