Job Overview: The Cost Specialist position at CIMMYT is a proactive role that requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a strong customer service orientation. The specialist will work within the Business Services Department and will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing pricing models for various hospitality services, including housing rent, hotel rooms, and restaurant operations. The Cost Specialist will analyze and recommend cost-based pricing models for fleet services and procurement cost allocations, adjusting pricing structures based on seasonality, market trends, and operational costs. Duties and Responsibilities: The Cost Specialist will have a comprehensive set of duties and responsibilities, including: developing and managing pricing models for hospitality services; conducting market research and competitor analysis; analyzing cost structures for hospitality services, fleet management, and procurement processes; maintaining financial models to project costs, revenue, and profit margins; tracking revenue streams and operating expenses; preparing financial performance reports; collaborating with unit leads to develop annual budgets; providing variance analysis; developing key performance indicators (KPIs); supporting strategic decision-making through scenario analysis; evaluating cost recovery models; participating in strategic planning sessions; optimizing financial reporting systems; identifying process improvements; ensuring adherence to financial policies; and collaborating with auditors for compliance reviews.
