Job Overview: The Regional Communications Senior Specialist position is pivotal within the IDB's Andean Group Department, focusing on enhancing the department's visibility and stakeholder engagement. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties of the Regional Communications Senior Specialist include serving as a strategic advisor to senior management, ensuring consistent messaging across all communications. The specialist will manage strategic media relationships, providing editorial guidance on media interactions and establishing connections with regional influencers. Additionally, the role involves leading the development of a comprehensive regional communication strategy, supporting country-level communication plans, and providing strategic leadership to communications teams. The specialist will also shape communication strategies during crises, create high-quality content for senior management, and manage promotional and multimedia content that highlights the organization's impact in the region.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, international development, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience is required, including at least 3 years in a leadership role within communications or external affairs in national or international organizations. Experience in a multilateral development bank or in developing regions is preferred, along with a strong understanding of the socio-political dynamics in the Andean countries. A proven track record in strategic communications, media relations, and content creation is essential, demonstrating the ability to lead and implement communication initiatives aligned with institutional objectives.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in a relevant field such as communications, journalism, marketing, or international development.
