Job Overview: The Gender Analyst position at UNFPA involves providing technical support to integrate a gender perspective into various initiatives, ensuring a culturally sensitive and human rights-based approach to programming. Duties and Responsibilities: The Gender Analyst will be responsible for providing technical support to GBV prevention and response structures, leading the development of multi-sectoral prevention and response plans, promoting safe data collection and analysis related to GBV, establishing inter-agency protection mechanisms, advocating for GBV integration in various sectors, mobilizing resources for GBV initiatives, linking emergency interventions with development initiatives, and ensuring that gender and human rights are integrated into local government work plans. The role also includes representing UNFPA in inter-agency meetings, documenting good practices, and performing other duties as assigned by senior management.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in fields relevant to UNFPA's mandate, such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women's studies, public health, or international development. Knowledge of gender issues, development work, and public health is essential, along with excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in relevant computer applications is also required. Candidates should demonstrate integrity, commitment to UNFPA's values, and the ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
Educational Background: An advanced degree in sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women's studies, public health, public administration, international relations, international development, law, or related fields is required for this position. Experience: Candidates should have up to two years of relevant work experience in development work, gender and development, social work, public health, or gender equality and women's empowerment, preferably at the local government or community level.
