Job Overview: As the Senior Officer for Washington State Data, you will be responsible for enhancing the demand, systems, governance, and utilization of education data in Washington State, particularly focusing on transitions from high school to postsecondary education and workforce. Your role will involve managing a portfolio of grants and contracts aimed at strengthening the state's data ecosystem and improving data flow to various stakeholders, including policymakers, researchers, and families. Duties and Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include developing and managing a complex portfolio of grants and contracts that support Washington's P20W data modernization efforts. You will build partnerships with state agencies, research organizations, and community leaders to align efforts towards shared goals for systemic improvements in data access and use. You will evaluate new technology solutions, particularly in AI, to enhance data use and expand postsecondary enrollment. Additionally, you will implement performance-based grants, monitor risks, and communicate strategic progress. Representing the foundation in external convenings and contributing to broader data strategies will also be part of your role. You will apply a data-driven approach to support decision-making and work collaboratively with team members to achieve shared goals.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree and have at least 10 years of relevant professional experience, preferably in education-related organizations that support low-income students and students of color. A deep understanding of P20W data, particularly regarding transitions from high school to postsecondary education, is essential. Familiarity with Washington State's education data systems and technology solutions, especially AI, is preferred. Experience in advising, financial aid, and dual credit strategies to support enrollment is also required.
