Job Overview:
The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing projects aimed at enhancing the capacities of community radio stations in conflict-affected areas of the Democratic Republic of Congo, specifically in North Kivu, South Kivu, and Ituri. This role involves leading field missions, delivering capacity-building sessions, and coordinating with various partners, including UNICEF and the Ministry of Health. The Project Manager will also manage the Radio Okapi – UNICEF Gates project, which focuses on promoting routine vaccinations. The position requires the creation and monitoring of project budgets, adherence to policies, and the use of project management frameworks to ensure effective implementation. The Project Manager will define key performance indicators (KPIs), track project progress, and provide strategic guidance on monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Additionally, the role includes preparing reports, identifying potential partners for future projects, and contributing to the sustainability of Radio Okapi.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Project Manager will undertake a variety of duties, including: managing projects to enhance community radio capacities, overseeing training sessions, coordinating activities with UNICEF and other stakeholders, implementing capacity-building programs on vaccination benefits, creating and reviewing project budgets, monitoring project performance against KPIs, providing leadership and guidance on project planning and budgeting, preparing reports and presentations, identifying new partnership opportunities, assisting in contract preparation with various entities, contributing to Radio Okapi’s sustainability, promoting good relations with donors and authorities, and supervising staff, including UN Volunteers.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master's degree or equivalent in law" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">international law, project management, or related fields. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in the same fields is acceptable, provided the candidate has a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience. Knowledge of international public law is essential, and experience in peacekeeping missions is mandatory. Candidates should demonstrate a strong background in partnerships and program management, particularly in an international context.

Educational Background:
A Master's degree or equivalent in international law, project management, or related fields is required. A Bachelor's degree in the same fields is acceptable with extensive experience. This educational background is crucial for understanding the complexities of project management in an international and legal context.

Experience:
Candidates should have at least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in partnerships, program management, or legal affairs for those with a Master's degree, and at least 7 years for those with a Bachelor's degree. At least 1 year of this experience must be in an international context, emphasizing the need for familiarity with international operations and standards.

Languages:
Fluency in both English and French is required for this position. Proficiency in these languages is essential for effective communication with diverse stakeholders and partners in the region.

Additional Notes:
The contract type for this position is an Individual Contractor Agreement (ICA), specifically at the I-ICA 2, ICS10 level. The contract duration is ongoing.
