Job Posting Organization:
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is an international non-governmental organization founded in Norway, operating in over 33 countries worldwide. Established in 2001, NRC has been active in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) since its inception. The organization focuses on various sectors including Education, Rapid Response to Population Movements (RRMP), Protection and Humanitarian Mediation, Shelter, Water, Hygiene and Sanitation (EHA/WASH), and Information, Advice, and Legal Assistance (ICLA) for displaced populations. The NRC's area office in North Kivu employs over 100 staff members and implements projects addressing critical issues in education, rapid response, shelter, EHA, ICLA, and protection/mediation.

Job Overview:
The Logistics Technical Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the daily implementation of logistics functions across various zones within the North Kivu area. This position is primarily based in Goma, where the assistant will provide significant support to the logistics team in stock management, asset management, and assist program teams with supply tracking at distribution sites and during activity implementation. The role requires adherence to NRC's policies and procedures, ensuring that logistics functions are executed efficiently and effectively, contributing to the overall mission of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Logistics Technical Assistant will be responsible for a variety of tasks including: working in compliance with NRC policies, tools, manuals, and directives; assisting in the implementation of support functions according to the action plan; drafting reports on the progress of support activities as requested by supervisors or management; ensuring proper archiving of documents; and encouraging improvements in support functions. Specific responsibilities include regularly updating stock and asset tracking registers at the Goma and Kitchanga bases; supporting procurement activities on the ground by assisting in the receipt of program materials and support at activity implementation sites; processing requests for stock and asset withdrawals and ensuring compliance; updating the list of kits stored in NRC warehouses in Goma and on the ground; organizing regular inventories of stocks and assets in NRC warehouses; ensuring cleanliness and organization of kits in NRC storage spaces; and ensuring proper management of warehouses in Goma and on the ground in accordance with established procedures.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess general knowledge in economics, management, logistics, and related fields, with specific knowledge in supply chain topics. Proven results in fulfilling job responsibilities are essential. Proficiency in English is considered an asset. The candidate should also have a deep understanding of the social, cultural, economic, and legal context of North Kivu, along with basic knowledge of software such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Mastery of French, both spoken and written, and oral proficiency in Swahili are required.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have a relevant educational background in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. A degree or equivalent qualification in these areas is preferred to ensure a solid understanding of the principles and practices necessary for effective logistics management.

Experience:
The position requires a level of experience that demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined. Previous experience in logistics or supply chain roles, particularly within humanitarian or development contexts, is highly desirable. Familiarity with the operational challenges faced in the North Kivu region will be advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, both spoken and written, while proficiency in Swahili is required for oral communication. Knowledge of English is considered a beneficial asset, enhancing communication within the international context of the organization.
