Job Overview: The Environmental Compliance and Climate Resilience Expert will play a crucial role in ensuring that environmental and climate resilience standards are integrated across various projects. This position involves leading compliance efforts, conducting environmental risk assessments, and collaborating with technical teams to promote sustainable planning. The expert will also be responsible for providing training and guidance to project teams to ensure that all outcomes are environmentally responsible. Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Environmental Compliance and Climate Resilience Expert include:
Leading the integration of environmental and climate resilience standards into project planning and implementation.
Conducting thorough environmental risk assessments to identify potential impacts and mitigation strategies.
Collaborating with technical teams to develop sustainable project plans that align with environmental standards.
Providing training and support to project teams on best practices for environmental compliance and sustainability.
Monitoring and evaluating project outcomes to ensure adherence to environmental standards and reporting on compliance.
Engaging with local communities and stakeholders to promote awareness and understanding of environmental issues.
Contributing to the development of organizational policies and guidelines related to environmental sustainability.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong background in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field. They should have proven experience in environmental compliance and climate resilience, with a track record of successfully integrating sustainability into projects. Strong analytical skills and the ability to conduct environmental risk assessments are essential. Additionally, candidates should demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Educational Background: A degree in environmental science, sustainability, or a related field is required. Advanced degrees or certifications in environmental compliance or climate resilience will be considered an asset. Candidates should have a solid understanding of environmental regulations and standards relevant to the region and sector.
Experience: The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in environmental compliance and climate resilience. Experience working in international development or with non-governmental organizations is highly desirable. Proven experience in leading environmental assessments and integrating sustainability into project management is essential.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory, both written and spoken. Knowledge of local languages spoken in Bangladesh would be advantageous but is not required. Proficiency in additional languages may enhance a candidate's application.
