Job Overview:
The position of Responsable de Soins Psychologiques involves overseeing the delivery of psychological care and support services within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement psychological care programs that address the needs of individuals and communities affected by trauma.
  • Provide direct psychological support and counseling to clients, utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Train and supervise junior staff and volunteers in psychological care techniques and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other health professionals to create integrated care plans for clients.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the psychological needs of clients.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of psychological programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Advocate for mental health awareness and promote the importance of psychological care within the community.

Required Qualifications:
  • A degree in psychology, social work, or a related field.
  • Professional certification or licensure in psychological practice.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues, particularly in conflict-affected settings.
  • Experience in developing and implementing psychological care programs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in using psychological assessment tools and techniques.

Educational Background:
Candidates should possess at least a bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field. A master's degree or higher in a relevant discipline is preferred. Additional training in trauma-informed care and psychological first aid is highly desirable.

Experience:
A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in providing psychological care and support, preferably in a humanitarian or post-conflict context. Experience in program development and staff supervision is also required.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory, as it is the primary language of communication in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Proficiency in English and local languages such as Lingala or Swahili is considered an asset and will enhance communication with diverse client populations.

This position is full-time and may require occasional travel within the Democratic Republic of Congo.
