Job Overview:
The Driver position at UNDP Syria is essential for providing reliable and safe transportation services. The role requires a high level of responsibility and a client-oriented approach, ensuring that the Qamishli Area Manager, staff, and UN personnel are transported safely and efficiently. The Driver will be responsible for maintaining the vehicle, ensuring it is in good working condition, and adhering to all safety regulations. This position also involves communication with security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security personnel and requires the ability to navigate complex environments, making it crucial for the Driver to be adaptable and knowledgeable about the local area and security protocols.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Driver's primary duties include transporting the Qamishli Area Manager and other staff members, ensuring the safe delivery and collection of mail and documents, and meeting official personnel at the airport. The Driver is responsible for maintaining accurate vehicle logs, managing vehicle maintenance, and ensuring all necessary documents and supplies are available in the vehicle. In case of accidents, the Driver must take immediate actions as per regulations. The role also requires the use of navigation applications and communication systems, adherence to driving advice regarding security and weather conditions, and participation in relevant security training. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a valid driver's license and have a secondary education. A minimum of three years of relevant driving experience with a safe driving record is required. Familiarity with basic computer skills and office software is essential, along with knowledge of driving regulations and minor vehicle maintenance. Experience in secure driving services and knowledge of the local area are highly desirable. Candidates should also have completed basic and advanced security training, including BSAFE, and have experience in leading field missions.

Educational Background:
The educational requirement for this position is secondary education, which must be complemented by a valid driver's license. This foundational education is critical for understanding the responsibilities associated with driving and vehicle management.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience as a driver, which should include a proven safe driving record. Experience in using navigation applications and communication systems is also necessary, along with a background in secure driving services and minor vehicle maintenance.

Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is mandatory for this position, while knowledge of English is considered desirable. This language proficiency is essential for effective communication within the diverse environment of UNDP and for understanding instructions and safety protocols.
