Job Overview:
The Junior Policy Advisor position within the Directorate for Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) at the OECD is designed to support the coordination of activities within the Science and Technology Policy Division (STP). The role involves assisting in the management of global relations, internal and external communications, and the implementation of outcomes from the CSTP Ministerial. The advisor will work closely with the Head of the Division to ensure effective engagement with stakeholders, coordinate major STP events, and contribute to the dissemination of STP's work. This position is pivotal in fostering cooperation among OECD member countries and addressing global challenges through science and technology policy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Junior Policy Advisor will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including coordinating the preparation of briefings, presentations, and official correspondence for both internal and external use. The advisor will ensure effective representation of the Division with the STI Directors Office and other Directorates, promoting key messages and policy priorities. Additionally, the advisor will assist in monitoring and reporting on the Programme of Work and Budget, support stakeholder engagement, and lead dialogues with international organizations. The role also includes advising on organizational and logistical aspects of high-level events, preparing communications material, and drafting correspondence and meeting notes as required.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in a relevant discipline such as international relations, political sciences, policy, communications, economics, or business administration. A minimum of two years of experience in public administration or international organizations is required, with a focus on supporting senior leadership, project management, and strategy. The ideal candidate should demonstrate strong writing skills for international audiences and have experience in synthesizing policy-oriented analysis and preparing briefing materials for high-level officials.

Educational Background:
An advanced university degree in a relevant field is essential for this position. This could include disciplines such as international relations, political sciences, policy, communications, economics, or business administration. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding the complexities of science and technology policy and its implications for economic and social development.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of two years of professional experience in public administration or international organizations. Candidates should have a proven track record of supporting senior leadership with high-level communications, project management, and strategic initiatives. Experience in synthesizing policy-oriented analysis and preparing high-quality written materials for international audiences is crucial for success in this role.

Languages:
Fluency in one of the two official OECD languages, English or French, is mandatory. Candidates should also have a willingness to learn the other language.
