Job Overview: The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer position at WFP involves contributing to the development of logistics plans and processes that comply with WFP standards and policies. The role requires supporting logistics projects and day-to-day operations to ensure effective delivery of food assistance to beneficiaries. Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Officer will be responsible for several key duties, including:
Developing logistics plans and processes in compliance with WFP standards.
Supporting logistics projects and daily operations to ensure effective food assistance delivery.
Collecting and analyzing data to recommend actions for improving logistics performance.
Conducting financial analyses and budget reviews to optimize fund utilization.
Guiding support staff and acting as a point of referral for queries.
Preparing accurate and timely reports on logistics activities.
Supporting capacity building initiatives for WFP staff and partners.
Building productive relationships with logistics colleagues and stakeholders.
Following emergency logistics preparedness practices to respond quickly to crises. 1

Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a strong educational background and relevant experience. The minimum requirement is an advanced university degree in Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, Business Management, or a related field. Alternatively, a first university degree with additional years of related work experience and/or training is acceptable. Candidates should have at least one year of relevant experience with an advanced degree or two or more years of experience with a first degree in supply chain management and logistics operations, preferably in commercial or humanitarian sectors. Knowledge of logistics policies, financial management, and procurement processes is essential.
Educational Background: The educational requirements for the Logistics Officer position include an advanced university degree in a relevant field such as Transport Economics, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering, or Business Management. A first university degree is also acceptable if accompanied by additional years of relevant work experience and training.
