Job Overview:
The Food Security Cluster Coordinator position is crucial for providing comprehensive administrative, logistical, and programmatic support to the Food Security Cluster (FSC) coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">coordination team. The role involves ensuring efficient and timely implementation of activities that aim to coordinate efforts to save lives and livelihoods in Somalia. The coordinator will lead the FSC localization strategy, advocate for local national actors' participation, and develop strategies to strengthen local partners' capacities. This position requires extensive field missions across Somalia to deliver tailored capacity-building activities and technical assistance to FSC partners, ensuring that the needs of the community are met effectively.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the Food Security Cluster Coordinator include leading the FSC localization strategy, developing and implementing capacity-building strategies for local partners, conducting Training Needs Assessments (TNA), engaging in field missions, developing training curricula, maintaining a roster of capacity-building participants, facilitating workshops, monitoring project progress, drafting reports, developing procurement plans, leading elections for governance bodies, administering surveys, coordinating monthly meetings, managing the FSC website, and documenting lessons learned from projects. The coordinator will also be responsible for disseminating food security information and maintaining communication with stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in relevant fields such as food security, agriculture, environmental sciences, or social sciences from a reputable institution. They should have at least 6 years of relevant experience with a first-level degree or 4 years with a master's degree. Experience in capacity development, planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of humanitarian food security programs is essential. A strong understanding of international humanitarian response architecture and coordination mechanisms is also required, along with proficiency in English and Somali.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a university degree in food security, agriculture, agricultural economics, forestry, fisheries, natural resources, environmental sciences, social science, rural development, nutrition, business administration, development studies, international relations, or other relevant disciplines. The degree must be from an accredited institution recognized in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience in the field of food security and livelihoods, with a focus on capacity development and humanitarian response. Experience working in diverse locations and with various stakeholders is desirable, particularly in field positions. Previous experience with UN agencies or NGOs is also beneficial, as is experience in high-level coordination and facilitation of meetings.

Languages:
Proficiency in English and Somali is mandatory for this position. Candidates should demonstrate strong communication skills in both languages, as effective communication is essential for coordinating with various stakeholders and partners.
