The team is currently experiencing significant growth, with a priority to accelerate the Private Partnerships and Philanthropy (PPH) program and expand partnerships with foundations and corporates in Denmark.
Job Overview: The Associate PPH Officer (Partnership Manager) will play a crucial role within the Private Sector Partnerships (PSP) team in Denmark, which consists of four members working collaboratively in a non-hierarchical environment. This position involves managing existing public health-related partnerships with major foundations and corporates, ensuring strategic direction, relationship management, and effective communication. The officer will also be responsible for growing and deepening existing partnerships, building new relationships with potential donors and partners, and drafting compelling proposals in collaboration with global and regional PSP colleagues. The role requires organizing events for donors and partners, ensuring effective communication on UNHCR's digital channels, and performing other related duties as necessary. The successful candidate will report directly to the Head of the PPH team and will work closely with other team members and stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Associate PPH Officer include: acting as the Account Manager for existing public health-related partnerships, ensuring strategic direction and relationship management; growing and deepening existing partnerships with key foundations and corporates; building new relationships with foundations, corporates, and individual philanthropists; identifying, drafting, and presenting proposals to potential donors; organizing events for donors and partners; ensuring effective communication on UNHCR's digital channels; and performing any other related tasks as required. The role demands a proactive approach to partnership management and the ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders to achieve mutual benefits.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate must possess a degree in International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Development Studies, Public Health, Marketing/Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of three years of relevant work experience is required with an undergraduate degree, two years with a graduate degree, or one year with a doctorate. Candidates should have solid experience in private sector fundraising and/or complex partnership management within a not-for-profit organization, international organization, or large corporate. Proven track record in account management, partnership growth, and income generation is essential, along with experience in managing partner visibility and organizing events. Familiarity with corporate social responsibility, ESG criteria, and UN Sustainable Development Goals is considered an asset.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a degree in a relevant field such as International Relations, Political Science, Communications, Development Studies, Public Health, Marketing/Business Administration, or a related discipline. This educational background is mandatory for the position and is complemented by the required work experience.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of three years of relevant work experience for candidates with an undergraduate degree, two years for those with a graduate degree, or one year for candidates holding a doctorate. Experience in private sector fundraising, complex partnership management, and account management is crucial, along with a proven ability to balance stakeholder needs and achieve mutual benefits.
Languages: Fluency in English and Danish, both oral and written, is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of additional languages is desirable but not required.
Additional Notes: This position is based in UN City, Copenhagen, Denmark, and is associated with a yearly contract, initially issued until the end of the year, with the possibility of extension. It is a full-time role requiring 40 hours of work per week. The salary will be based on the local UN NO (National Officer) salary scale.
