Job Overview: The Information and Data Management Officer will play a crucial role in supporting the supply chain operations for the Ministry of Health in Liberia, particularly in managing the logistics of health supplies and medicines. This position involves providing specialized support in information and data management to ensure effective delivery of goods and services for health programs funded by USAID and the Global Fund. The officer will be responsible for coordinating with various stakeholders, including government agencies and international partners, to facilitate supply chain analyses and reporting. The role requires a proactive approach to data management, ensuring that all logistics operations are accurately documented and reported to relevant parties. The officer will also contribute to the design and improvement of supply chain management dashboards, which are essential for monitoring and evaluating the performance of logistics operations.
Duties and Responsibilities: The officer will be responsible for a range of activities, including but not limited to: coordinating with the project team to manage information and data analytics related to supply chain operations; assisting in the design and enhancement of the Supply Chain Management Dashboard; updating the dashboard monthly to support coordination meetings; liaising with stakeholders to gather necessary inputs for supply chain analyses; providing secretariat services for supply chain coordination meetings; following up on action items from meetings; designing and implementing advanced analytics products to support operational decision-making; ensuring accurate data processing within warehouse and transport systems; promoting data compliance and quality enhancement; reporting activities to donors and partners; coordinating quarterly and annual performance reporting; supporting logistics operations as needed; and performing any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a university degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, International Relations, Business, Programme Management, or a related field. Additionally, candidates should have a minimum of one year of relevant work experience in supply chain management or logistics. Experience in supply chain analytics, particularly in the context of public health systems, is highly valued. Candidates should also demonstrate experience in producing reports, coordinating meetings, and managing data effectively. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks under pressure are essential for this role.
Educational Background: A university degree in a relevant field such as Supply Chain, Logistics, International Relations, Business, or Programme Management is required. This educational background provides the foundational knowledge necessary for understanding the complexities of supply chain operations and logistics management, particularly in the context of health programs.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of one year of relevant work experience in supply chain management or logistics. Additional experience in supply chain analytics, particularly in supporting national public health systems, is highly desirable. Candidates with experience in implementing joint projects with governments in Africa, especially those focused on capacity building in the health sector, will be given preference. Experience in producing internal and external reports and coordinating meetings is also beneficial.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Proficiency in additional languages may be considered an asset, particularly if they are relevant to the regions in which WFP operates or the stakeholders involved in the health programs.
Additional Notes: The contract for this position is a Service Contract with a duration of 6 months, with the possibility of extension based on funding availability. The position is based in Monrovia, Liberia, and is classified as a full-time role.
