Job Overview:
The Consultant for the ELEVATE project will play a crucial role in supporting the implementation of activities aimed at enhancing the livelihoods and economic vitality of displacement-affected communities in Armenia. This position is particularly focused on the Tavush region, where the consultant will engage with local stakeholders, including refugees and marginalized groups, to facilitate their integration into the local economy. The consultant will be responsible for logistical support, outreach, and communication efforts related to the project, ensuring that the needs of the community are met and that the project's objectives are achieved. The role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work collaboratively with various partners, including local educational institutions and community organizations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The consultant will be tasked with several key responsibilities, including:
  • Collecting and organizing documentation related to the grant application process, ensuring that all eligibility criteria are clearly communicated to potential applicants.
  • Providing logistical and organizational support for activities conducted in the Tavush region, ensuring that events run smoothly and effectively.
  • Promoting project activities through outreach efforts, engaging with the community to raise awareness and encourage participation.
  • Maintaining active communication with local educational institutions to foster partnerships and collaboration.
  • Engaging directly with refugees and other vulnerable groups to understand their needs and provide support.
  • Participating in and facilitating community meetings, training sessions, and workshops, contributing to the overall success of the project.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned by the supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and a willingness to adapt to changing project needs.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, Law, or related fields, along with two years of relevant professional experience. Alternatively, candidates with a High School diploma and four years of relevant professional experience will also be considered. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of community dynamics and the challenges faced by displaced populations, as well as experience in project implementation and fieldwork.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Sociology, Human Rights, or Law is required. Candidates with a High School diploma may qualify if they have significant relevant experience. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of migration and community integration.

Experience:
The position requires proven experience in working with communities, national institutions, and non-governmental organizations. Candidates should have a solid understanding of transition and recovery themes, including livelihoods and socioeconomic integration, as well as experience in working with migrants, refugees, and other vulnerable groups. Prior experience with international humanitarian organizations or in a multicultural setting is highly advantageous.

Languages:
Fluency in Armenian is mandatory, along with a working knowledge of English. Proficiency in Russian is considered an advantage, as it may facilitate communication with a broader range of stakeholders and community members.

Additional Notes:
The consultant is expected to work approximately 10 hours per week, with flexibility to accommodate project needs. The position is part-time and may involve travel within Armenia. The appointment is subject to funding confirmation and medical fitness certification. IOM provides coverage for occupational accidents and illnesses but does not offer medical insurance for non-occupational issues.
