Job Overview:
The Admin Communication Associate Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the Child Protection Section by performing a variety of administrative and communication tasks. This position requires a thorough understanding of child protection issues and the ability to facilitate effective communication and workflow within the team. The intern will be responsible for organizing logistics for events, managing correspondence, and providing travel assistance, among other duties. The role is designed to enhance the efficiency of operations and outputs, ensuring that the Child Protection team can effectively carry out its mission.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Communications & Workflow: Provide first-level support in organizing logistics for events such as the SRSG VAC Visit, International Children’s Day, and CP programme workshops. Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence, ensuring timely communication with partners. Establish and maintain filing systems for both traditional and digital documents.
  • Events/Logistics: Support capacity development activities by arranging logistics, liaising with facilitators and participants, and preparing background materials for events. Maintain agendas and documentation for meetings and events.
  • Calendar/Meetings/Correspondence Management: Arrange meetings, take accurate minutes, and organize documentation as needed. Ensure effective communication with the Communication Section.
  • Travel: Provide travel assistance to staff, ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Liaise with travel focal points and maintain accurate travel records. Assist in budget preparation for travel costs.
  • Supplies/Equipment: Manage administrative supplies and office equipment, ensuring adequate inventory and appropriate use of resources. Oversee maintenance services in accordance with organizational standards.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate degree program, or be recent graduates. They should demonstrate strong academic performance, as evidenced by their transcripts or reference letters. Additionally, candidates must not have immediate relatives working in UNICEF offices and must meet the UNICEF Child Safeguarding Personnel Standards.

Educational Background:
Candidates should have completed at least two years of full-time studies towards an undergraduate degree or be enrolled in a graduate program. A letter of verification from the educational institution is required, along with a copy of the most recent official transcript and identification.

Experience:
While specific prior experience is not mandatory, candidates should demonstrate a strong academic background and relevant coursework that aligns with the responsibilities of the internship. Recent graduates are eligible to apply within two years of completing their degree.

Languages:
Proficiency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required for this position.

Additional Notes:
This internship offers a monthly salary equivalent to 70% of the net monthly salary of the GS level 3 step
