The foundation focuses on initiatives that promote environmental stewardship and community engagement, particularly through its flagship project, 'Green Horizons for Morogoro'.
Job Overview: The position involves leading the 'Green Horizons for Morogoro' project, which aims to restore and enhance the natural environment in ten marginalized schools in Morogoro, Tanzania. The project focuses on engaging youth in practical environmental conservation activities, including creating eco-friendly school spaces, planting indigenous trees, and reviving local water ecosystems. The role requires a commitment to empowering students to become environmental stewards and future leaders in sustainable development. The successful candidate will oversee various programs, including nutrition education, agricultural initiatives, and climate change awareness, ensuring that each task is executed effectively and contributes to the overall mission of the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Enhance School Environments: Transform ten schools into eco-hubs through sustainable landscaping and water conservation systems.
Mass Tree Planting: Organize the planting of over 10,000 indigenous trees to restore local biodiversity and improve environmental quality.
Empower Youth: Engage 1,000 students in hands-on conservation activities and environmental leadership training.
Improve Water Management: Implement workshops to enhance water quality and conservation practices around school grounds.
Monitor and evaluate project outcomes through surveys, logs, and community feedback.
Collaborate with local experts, school staff, and community volunteers to ensure successful project implementation.
Conduct training sessions for teachers and students on environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
Lead digital advocacy efforts to promote project progress and engage the community.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess strong leadership skills, a background in environmental science or education, and experience in project management. They should demonstrate a commitment to community engagement and possess excellent communication skills. Familiarity with sustainable practices and environmental conservation is essential. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, including students, teachers, and community members, is crucial.
