Job Overview:
The Information Management Officer (IMO) is a core member of the Nutrition Cluster/Sector coordination-team" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Coordination team in Sudan. The primary purpose of this position is to implement, manage, and provide technical capacity support for information management systems related to the Nutrition Cluster. This includes the collection, analysis, storage, and dissemination of vital information to facilitate evidence-based strategic decisions. The IMO will synthesize nutrition information, prepare reports, and create/update dashboards at national and subnational levels. The role requires collaboration with various stakeholders, including the country office emergency team and partners' nutrition management focal points, to ensure effective implementation of core nutrition cluster functions. The position is initially for one year, with the possibility of extension based on performance.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The IMO will be responsible for implementing and reinforcing information management systems at both national and sub-national levels in Sudan. Key responsibilities include: reviewing and supporting the nutrition sector/cluster information management systems, preparing accurate IM products such as maps and dashboards, conducting data collection and analysis, disseminating information products to stakeholders, and gathering feedback for improvements. The IMO will also support capacity mapping, monitor malnutrition risk factors, participate in the development of annual work plans, and contribute to sector bulletins and reports. Additionally, the IMO will provide training to partners on IM tools and support sub-national coordinators in data analysis and interpretation.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a university degree in Information Management, Information Systems, GIS, Computer Science, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field. Formal training in Cluster Working Group Information Management or an advanced degree is advantageous. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in information management, data management, or related fields, preferably within the UN or NGO sectors. Strong information management skills in a professional context are essential.

Educational Background:
A university degree in a relevant field such as Information Management, Information Systems, GIS, Computer Science, Statistics, or Social Sciences is required. Additional formal training in Cluster Working Group Information Management or an advanced degree is considered an asset.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in information management, data management, or related fields is required. Experience in a humanitarian context and familiarity with the humanitarian coordination system are considered assets. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to adapt to change and work under pressure, especially in situations with missing data or gaps.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) or a local language is an asset.
