UNHCR has relocated several key functions from its Headquarters in Geneva to UN City in Copenhagen, including the Private Sector Partnerships Service (PSP), which enhances UNHCR's engagement with the public and private sectors globally. The PSP Denmark team, established in 2018, focuses on fundraising from individuals and partnerships with the Danish private sector, experiencing significant growth and aiming to accelerate its Individual Giving programme through various fundraising and engagement campaigns.

Job Overview:
The Senior Donor Care and Administration Assistant (IG) will be a vital member of the Individual Giving (IG) team, focusing on donor care, administration, reporting, communication, and systems management. This role is essential to support the development and implementation of the Individual Giving fundraising programme and to facilitate the digital transformation of PSP Denmark in alignment with UNHCR’s global strategy. The position offers a unique opportunity to engage in fundraising, donor engagement, and communication within a dynamic and growing team that collaborates closely with regional and global experts. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing donor care activities, ensuring timely responses to inquiries, and maintaining the donor database, among other administrative tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Senior Donor Care and Administration Assistant (IG) will have a range of responsibilities, including but not limited to: managing all individual donor care activities and ensuring timely responses to donor inquiries; assisting in the management of PSP Denmark’s donor database to keep records updated; supporting payment systems and gateways to ensure business continuity and donor satisfaction; handling administration tasks such as payment of invoices, vendor relationship management, and updating service agreements; assisting in the procurement of services and managing tender processes; overseeing internal monthly income recording and expense ledgers; preparing annual reports for Danish authorities, including tax and income reporting; managing community engagement on UNHCR’s social media channels in Denmark; performing ad-hoc communication tasks, including proofreading; and executing other related duties as required.

Required Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must possess completed secondary education, preferably with a degree in Finance, Marketing/Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. They should have a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience with secondary education or at least 1 year of relevant work experience with an undergraduate degree. Relevant experience in finance, marketing/fundraising, or communications, preferably within a not-for-profit organization or international organization, is essential. Candidates should also have experience with donor/customer service programs, planning, budgeting, reporting, administration, database management, and CRM systems, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Educational Background:
Candidates are required to have completed secondary education, with a preference for those holding a degree in Finance, Marketing/Business Administration, Communications, or a related field. This educational background is crucial for understanding the financial and administrative aspects of donor care and fundraising.

Experience:
The position requires a minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience for candidates with secondary education or at least 1 year of relevant work experience for those with an undergraduate degree. Experience in finance, marketing/fundraising, or communications is highly desirable, particularly within a not-for-profit or international organization. Familiarity with donor/customer service programs and database management is also essential.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Danish is mandatory for this position. Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and be service-minded, with the ability to manage relationships with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and donors. While fluency in English and Danish is required, additional language skills may be considered advantageous.

Additional Notes:
This position is based in UN City in Copenhagen, Denmark, and is associated with a yearly contract, initially issued until the end of the year, with the possibility of extension on a yearly basis. The role is currently part-time, requiring 20 hours of work per week. The salary will be based on the local UN GS (General Staff) salary scale.
