Job Overview: The Driver position at UNDP Philippines is crucial for ensuring reliable transportation services for the operations and program staff, as well as consultants and UN staff on mission. Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide reliable and secure driving services by transporting authorized personnel and delivering and collecting mail, documents, and other items.
Meet official personnel and visitors at the airport and assist with visa and customs formalities as required.
Ensure cost savings through proper vehicle use, including accurate maintenance plans and reports.
Assist in the registration of diplomatic and official vehicles as they come due.
Maintain the assigned vehicle through timely minor repairs, arrangements for major repairs, oil changes, tire checks, and car washing.
Conduct periodic check-ups of vehicles and troubleshoot engine issues as needed.
Ensure availability of all required documents and supplies, including vehicle insurance, logs, office directory, city maps, transport records, first aid kits, and necessary spare parts.
Accurately complete trip tickets daily to support monthly billing for driving services.
Take immediate actions required by rules and regulations in case of incidents, demonstrating knowledge of protocol and security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security matters for drivers.
Required Qualifications: Completion of Secondary Education is required. Familiarity with Manila and other major cities in the Philippines is advantageous. Knowledge of driving rules and regulations is beneficial, as well as skills in minor vehicle repairs. Experience driving various types of vehicles is an asset, and familiarity with Windows-based systems (MS Office, etc.) is also advantageous. Candidates should possess a valid Professional Driver's license and demonstrate a commitment to safety and customer service.
Educational Background: The minimum educational requirement for this position is the completion of Secondary Education. This foundational education is essential for understanding the responsibilities and duties associated with the role of a Driver in a professional environment.
Experience: Candidates must have at least two years of work experience as a driver. Experience working with the UN or international organizations is considered an asset, as it demonstrates familiarity with the operational standards and expectations of such environments.
