Job Overview: The Partnership Communication Specialist role is designed to provide communication support for multi-country and global partnerships. This includes the development and execution of joint communication plans, coordination of communication strategies across various countries, and facilitation of workshops aimed at enhancing partnership communication. The specialist will work closely with National Committees and country offices to manage reputational risks and ensure effective communication strategies are implemented. The position requires collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to address reputational issues related to UNICEF’s partnerships with businesses, foundations, and other organizations. The role is critical in developing communication packages, organizing workshops, and overseeing the implementation of communication plans to align with UNICEF's goals and objectives.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Partnership Communication Specialist will be responsible for developing communication packages such as press releases, social media assets, key messages, and Q&A documents for multi-country partnerships. They will organize and facilitate communication workshops for stakeholders to create partnership communication frameworks and plans. The specialist will manage reputational risks through strategic communication and oversee the implementation of communication plans across countries. They will support communication requirements for new high-value partners and ensure alignment across various workstreams and offices at global, regional, and national levels. The role also includes developing communication parameters and risk mitigation strategies for partnerships, coordinating the implementation of communication plans, and facilitating workshops to enhance partnership communication.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or higher) in Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, Arts, or related fields. Alternatively, a first-level university degree (Bachelor’s degree or higher) combined with qualifying experience may be accepted. A minimum of five years of progressive experience in Communications, Public Relations, Account/Client Management, Sales, Marketing, Fundraising, or Advertising is required. Experience in partnership contexts, particularly with customer-facing partnerships, is essential. Desirable qualifications include at least two years of international experience, regional or country office experience, strong project management skills, and the ability to work with diverse stakeholders across cross-cultural markets.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes an advanced university degree (Master’s degree or higher) in relevant fields such as Marketing, Communications, Business, Social Sciences, or Arts. A Bachelor’s degree may be accepted if combined with sufficient qualifying experience, demonstrating the candidate's capability in the field.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of five years of progressive experience in relevant fields such as Communications, Public Relations, or Marketing. Experience in partnership contexts, particularly with customer-facing partnerships, is crucial. At least two years of experience at the international level is desirable, along with strong project management experience and the ability to work effectively in cross-functional environments.
Languages: Fluency in English is mandatory for this position. Knowledge of another official UN language, such as Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish, is considered an asset and may enhance the candidate's qualifications.
