Job Overview:
The coordinator" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">MEAL Coordinator is a critical role within the FAO Bangladesh Country Programme, responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework. This position requires collaboration with national and project-specific M&E consultants to ensure consistency across various programs and projects. The MEAL Coordinator will coordinate FAO's corporate reporting efforts and engage with multiple stakeholders to facilitate effective data collection and reporting. The incumbent will work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that the M&E strategies align with FAO's corporate frameworks and contribute to the overall goals of the Country Programme. The role emphasizes the importance of evidence generation, strategic positioning, and capacity development within the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties and responsibilities of the MEAL Coordinator include developing and maintaining a results-based comprehensive M&E Framework for the Country Programme, supporting the mapping and compiling of information for reporting to various stakeholders, facilitating FAO's engagement in evidence generation platforms, coordinating project evaluations, designing baseline surveys, establishing grievance monitoring mechanisms, assisting with project formulation, reviewing logical frameworks, providing capacity development for staff and partners, developing M&E tools for data collection and analysis, establishing a beneficiary tracking system, monitoring project activities, representing FAO in relevant platforms, identifying lessons learned from evaluations, and participating in inter-agency M&E coordination structures. The role requires regular field visits to support project implementation and ensure effective M&E activities.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree in development studies, statistics, agriculture, economics, or related fields. A minimum of ten years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation within humanitarian and/or development contexts is required, along with strong analytical and reporting skills. Candidates should have a working knowledge of English at level C and be nationals of Bangladesh. FAO Core Competencies such as results focus, teamwork, communication, building effective relationships, and knowledge sharing are essential. Technical skills in statistical packages and project management are also necessary, along with excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage workloads under tight deadlines.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a Master’s degree in relevant fields such as development studies, statistics, agriculture, or economics. Candidates must have their qualifications recognized by institutions accredited in the World Higher Education Database (WHED).

Experience:
The position requires at least ten years of relevant experience in monitoring and evaluation, particularly in humanitarian and development contexts. Candidates should demonstrate good analytical and reporting skills, as well as experience in project management and coordination.

Languages:
A working knowledge of English at level C is mandatory for this position. Additionally, familiarity with a second official language of the Organization (French, Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Russian) is considered beneficial but not required.
