Job Overview: The position of Competency Based Course for Health Workers Providing Services Trainer involves preparing and facilitating a master training of trainers (ToT) program aimed at enhancing the skills of health workers who provide services to refugees and migrants. This consultancy is part of the Health and Migration Programme (HMP) of WHO, which has developed global competency standards to improve healthcare delivery for these populations. The trainer will be responsible for contextualizing training materials, conducting pilot training sessions, and ensuring that the curriculum is culturally appropriate and relevant to the Eastern Mediterranean Region. The role requires a strong understanding of public health, health education, and the specific needs of refugees and migrants, as well as the ability to adapt training content to various healthcare settings.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Competency Based Course for Health Workers Providing Services Trainer include:
Developing contextualized training content based on WHO's global Competency Standards for health workers.
Reviewing existing training packages from IOM and UNHCR to ensure comprehensive coverage of relevant topics.
Creating a training curriculum package that aligns with the global facilitator's manual for the pilot training.
Coordinating with IOM, UNHCR, and country offices to ensure that case studies and materials are culturally appropriate.
Participating in and facilitating pilot training sessions, collecting feedback from participants to improve the curriculum.
Preparing a comprehensive report on the outcomes of the pilot trainings and providing recommendations for future training initiatives.
Finalizing the training package in English, Arabic, and French, while ensuring that translations are managed appropriately.
Required Qualifications: The required qualifications for this position include an advanced university degree in health promotion, health systems, public health, or a medical degree. Additional Notes: This consultancy position is expected to involve travel, particularly for the pilot training sessions in Jordan. The remuneration for this position is classified as Band level B.
