Duties and Responsibilities: The Gender Analyst will be responsible for a comprehensive set of duties, including: providing technical support to GBV prevention and response structures; leading the development of evidence-based multi-sectoral prevention and response plans; promoting the safe collection and analysis of GBV-related data; establishing inter-agency protection mechanisms; advocating for the integration of GBV concerns in various clusters; mobilizing resources for GBV initiatives; linking emergency interventions with regular development initiatives; ensuring gender-responsive approaches in design" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">program design and implementation; reviewing work plans of local government units (LGUs) to ensure integration of gender and human rights; representing UNFPA in inter-agency meetings; documenting good practices; and performing other duties as assigned by the Country Representative or Head of Programme.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess an advanced degree in a relevant field such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women's studies, public health, or international development. They should have up to two years of relevant work experience in development work, gender and development, social work, or public health, preferably at the community level. Experience in gender-based violence prevention and response in both normal and humanitarian settings is advantageous. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with proficiency in MS Office applications, are essential for this role.
Educational Background: An advanced degree in fields relevant to UNFPA's mandate is required. This includes disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, social sciences, women's studies, public health, public administration, international relations, or law. The educational background should provide a solid foundation for understanding gender issues and the complexities of development work.
Experience: The position requires candidates to have up to two years of relevant experience in development work, particularly in areas related to gender equality and women's empowerment. Experience in gender-based violence prevention and response, as well as familiarity with working in both normal and humanitarian contexts, is highly desirable. Candidates should also have experience in developing and monitoring work plans, which is considered an advantage.
