Job Overview:
The position of Consultant for Strategic Communications and Resource Mobilization is pivotal in leading the development and implementation of an integrated strategic communications plan for advocacy and resource mobilization for the UN Trust Fund. This role is essential as the Trust Fund approaches its 30th anniversary and prepares its final Strategic Plan for 2026-203
  • The consultant will be responsible for redefining the Fund's narrative, enhancing visibility, and mobilizing resources effectively in a challenging global landscape. The position requires a strategic approach to communication, advocacy, and resource mobilization, ensuring alignment with the Fund's long-term vision and immediate goals. The consultant will work closely with various teams to consolidate communication infrastructure, coordinate key products, and harness innovation for dynamic advocacy.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development and implementation of an Integrated Strategic Communications Plan for Advocacy and Resource Mobilization (2025-2026), defining messaging and identifying strategic advocacy objectives.
  • Consolidate the Strategic Communications Infrastructure by improving data management systems and enhancing the availability of advocacy materials.
  • Coordinate key strategic communications and advocacy products, including overseeing the 30th Anniversary campaign and developing key reports.
  • Harness innovation for advocacy and resource mobilization, testing alternative communication tactics and engaging stakeholders in co-creating knowledge products.
  • Guide the Strategic Communications Team, providing leadership and managing report preparation and multimedia projects.

Required Qualifications:
The position requires an advanced university degree in evaluation, social science, or a related field, or a first-level degree with relevant experience. A minimum of 7 years of professional experience in gender equality, particularly in ending violence against women, is essential. Proven experience in knowledge management strategies and working in international organizations is highly desirable. The candidate should have a strong understanding of advocacy strategies and experience in knowledge exchange and collaboration activities.

Educational Background:
Candidates must possess an advanced university degree in evaluation, social science, or a related field. Alternatively, a first-level university degree combined with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:
The role requires a minimum of 7 years of professional experience in gender equality, with a focus on ending violence against women. Experience in knowledge management strategies and working within international organizations is preferred, along with a background in advocacy and knowledge exchange activities.

Languages:
Fluency in English (oral and written) is mandatory. Fluency in Spanish and French (oral and written) is desirable, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage with diverse stakeholders.
