Job Overview: The Associate Investment Officer position within the Infrastructure Department (CNG) at IFC is a critical role that involves supporting the Global Transport Team (CNGTR) in managing and growing the transport sector investment portfolio. The successful candidate will engage in various functions, including client relationship management, business development, transaction origination, and processing. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying viable investment opportunities that align with both development impact and commercial profitability. The Associate Investment Officer will work closely with senior investment staff and regional teams, contributing to the overall strategy and operations of CNGTR across multiple transport sub-sectors, including ports, roads, airports, railways, mass transit, logistics, and e-mobility. The position is designed for a three-year term contract, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing within the organization and with external stakeholders.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Associate Investment Officer will have a diverse set of responsibilities, including but not limited to: supporting sector leads in business development by identifying investment opportunities; assisting in building new-client engagements and supporting ongoing client relationships; complementing client discussions to assess financing needs and developing investment proposals; processing new transport sector investments using various investment products; contributing to the development of CNGTR's business strategy; maintaining awareness of sector developments, market trends, and sustainability initiatives; and creating knowledge content for communication activities. The role requires a strong analytical mindset, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders efficiently.
Required Qualifications: Candidates must possess a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification in finance, economics, business, or a related field. Additionally, a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience is required, with at least 3 years specifically in investment or advisory roles related to transport infrastructure projects, particularly in emerging markets. Strong analytical skills, financial modeling capabilities, and the ability to draft concise and organized documents are essential. The candidate should also demonstrate proficiency in market research and strategy development, along with excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients and stakeholders.
Educational Background: The educational background required for this position includes a Master's degree or an equivalent qualification in finance, economics, business, or a similar relevant field.
