SI is particularly committed to combating diseases related to unsafe water, which is the leading cause of mortality worldwide. The organization operates in 26 countries and employs a total of 3,200 people, including expatriates, national staff, headquarters employees, and some volunteers. SI's mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) began in 2001, and it is currently one of the largest missions in terms of financial volume, with an annual programming budget of approximately 15.2 million euros. SI aims to maintain a strong emergency response capacity while developing sustainable solutions to the issues affecting populations in eastern DRC.
Job Overview: The Grants and Partnerships Coordinator will play a crucial role in developing and overseeing the mission's overall strategy, particularly in relation to funding. This position involves coordinating the funding research cycle and ensuring the quality of project proposals. The coordinator will work closely with all departments and operational bases to ensure the smooth execution of grants and will act as the focal point for institutional partners and NGOs. The role also includes ensuring accountability regarding contractual commitments and providing teams with the necessary tools to ensure compliance with donor procedures throughout the project cycle. The coordinator will be responsible for developing strategic partnerships with local, national, and international NGOs and will supervise the preparation and execution of external audits and evaluations. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying funding opportunities and updating the Grants and Partnerships department's strategy.
Duties and Responsibilities: The primary duties and responsibilities of the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator include:
Participating in the development and monitoring of the mission's global strategy.
Leading the mission's funding strategy in alignment with its priorities.
Coordinating the funding research cycle and developing high-quality project proposals.
Diversifying the mission's funding sources to expand its grant portfolio.
Collaborating closely with all departments and operational bases to ensure effective grant management.
Acting as the main contact for institutional partners and NGOs in collaboration with the director" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Country Director.
Ensuring accountability for the mission's contractual commitments.
Providing teams with tools to ensure compliance with donor procedures throughout the project cycle.
Developing strategic partnerships with local, national, and international NGOs. 1

Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Grants and Partnerships Coordinator position should possess the following qualifications:
A strong understanding of the functioning of donor platforms, rules, and procedures of various institutional donors.
Experience in reporting and project proposals with various donors and/or experience in managing projects funded by institutional donors.
Excellent writing, analytical, and synthesis skills.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a multicultural environment.
Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Educational Background: Candidates should have a higher education degree in Political Science, International Relations, International Development, or a related field. This educational background is essential for understanding the complexities of humanitarian work and the dynamics of international funding.
Experience: The position requires a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector, with 0-2 years of experience in a similar role. This experience is crucial for understanding the challenges and requirements of managing grants and partnerships in a humanitarian context.
Languages: Fluency in French is mandatory, and proficiency in English is highly desirable. Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region would be considered an asset, as it can enhance communication with local partners and beneficiaries.

The salary is based on experience, starting from EUR 2860 gross per month, which includes a base salary and a 10% annual leave allowance paid monthly. Additionally, there is a monthly per diem of USD 80
SI covers housing costs and travel expenses between the expatriate's home country and the duty station. During the mission, a work and leave alternation system is in place, allowing for 7 working days off every three months, with an additional day of rest for each month worked. Expatriates benefit from comprehensive health insurance covering medical expenses, including dental and ophthalmological care, as well as repatriation. Vaccination and malaria treatment costs are reimbursed. Living conditions in Goma have deteriorated due to security" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">security issues, but housing remains good, with private rooms and bathrooms available in guest houses, access to varied and quality food, and opportunities for social life and activities in the city.
