Job Overview:
The Programme Assistant for the Southern Zone will work under the authority of the Zone Coordinator and the program referents (EHA, community mobilization, menstrual poverty) of the Southern Operations. The assistant will collaborate with logistics, EHA, and community mobilization teams. The role involves supporting programmatic monitoring and reporting, assisting in technical design and field interventions with program managers, and contributing to the improvement of living conditions for vulnerable populations in France who lack access to primary services such as drinking water and sanitation. The assistant will be involved in projects targeting individuals living in degraded habitats such as slums, camps, or squats, who have very limited and often informal access to these basic services.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The main responsibilities of the Programme Assistant include:
  • Project Relevance, Quality, and Design: Participate in evaluation missions and technical diagnostics related to EHA, and assist in writing reports under the supervision of the zone coordinator. Support the zone coordinators and program managers in the technical design of activities and monitor the technical support hotline for associations and institutions.
  • Monitoring and Operational Follow-up: Update various programmatic management and monitoring tools, assist program managers in operational implementations (installations, maintenance, distributions), and maintain relationships with technical providers and volunteers involved in activities.
  • Capitalization: Participate in the centralization and dissemination of procedures, guides, and tools related to EHA activities in France, contribute to the capitalization of methods and techniques used by SI and other actors, assist in writing project proposals and donor reports, and archive administrative and programmatic documents.
  • Logistical and Financial Means: Ensure proper documentation related to storage and participate in the logistics/finance cycle related to EHA activities.
  • Human Resources: Participate in the recruitment process for the replacement intern at the end of the contract, including reviewing job descriptions, publishing, pre-selecting CVs, and participating in interviews.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates should have studies in development, water and sanitation, project management, environmental health, or political sciences. Knowledge of water, hygiene, and sanitation, as well as familiarity with the humanitarian sector, is an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and GIS software (Earth, QGIS) is required. Candidates should possess strong analytical and writing skills, good synthesis abilities, proactivity, critical thinking, organizational skills, and the ability to work under pressure. Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to the principles and work of SOLIDARITES INTERNATIONAL are essential. A valid driver's license (B) is also required.

Educational Background:
The educational background required for this position includes a degree in development studies, water and sanitation, project management, environmental health, or political sciences. Candidates with knowledge in water, hygiene, and sanitation, or experience in the humanitarian field will have an advantage.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have relevant experience in development, water and sanitation, or project management. Experience in humanitarian work or knowledge of the EHA sector will be considered a plus. The role is designed for interns, so prior professional experience may not be mandatory, but any relevant internships or volunteer work will be beneficial.

Languages:
Fluency in French is mandatory for this position, as the role involves working in French-speaking environments and with local communities. Proficiency in English is also desirable, as it may be necessary for reporting and communication with international teams.

  • The internship is offered under student status (internship or apprenticeship), with a legal stipend of 15% of the hourly social security ceiling, calculated based on actual hours worked. Additional benefits include meal vouchers (60% covered) and transportation tickets (50% covered) provided by the organization.
