Job Overview:
The Information Management Officer will play a crucial role in the thematic implementation of the Education program in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. This position is responsible for ensuring that the educational and psychosocial-support" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">psychosocial support activities are impactful and aligned with the objectives of the NRC. The officer will be tasked with maintaining and improving the Education data management system, ensuring compliance with technical responsibilities, and providing support and capacity building to project staff. The role requires a proactive approach to managing information systems, ensuring that they are up to date with the latest data on indicators and activities. The officer will also contribute to the development of data collection tools and methodologies, ensuring that the data collected is accurate and useful for reporting and decision-making purposes.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The Information Management Officer will have a wide range of duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of the Education data management system, ensuring standardized information flow for monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning activities.
  • Designing and rolling out data collection tools and means of verification.
  • Managing information and data from raw inputs, including data cleaning, validation, synthesis, and analysis.
  • Creating and maintaining relevant and accurate databases for project reports, logframes, and donor deliverables.
  • Developing live dashboards for programmatic reporting and project disaggregation.
  • Carrying out capacity building and training for program staff on the Education database and NRC's Monitoring and Evaluation technical areas.
  • Ensuring compliance with Education-specific technical responsibilities for quality control and monitoring of project activities.
  • Contributing updated beneficiary figures and achievements to donor reports and strategy documents.
  • Identifying opportunities for improving organizational information management processes and recommending solutions.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates for the Information Management Officer position must possess a minimum of 2 years of experience working in Information Management or Monitoring and Evaluation, preferably within an international NGO context. They should have experience in coding questionnaires on KOBO, as well as cleaning and analyzing data using tools such as Excel or Power BI. Previous experience in complex and volatile contexts is highly desirable. Candidates must demonstrate fluency in both English and Arabic, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.

Educational Background:
The ideal candidate should have a higher education degree in information technology, social science, or a related field. This educational background will provide the necessary foundation for understanding the complexities of information management and data analysis within the context of humanitarian work.

Experience:
The position requires candidates to have at least 2 years of relevant experience in Information Management or Monitoring and Evaluation. This experience should ideally be in an international NGO setting, where the candidate has developed skills in data management, analysis, and reporting in challenging environments.

Languages:
Fluency in English and Arabic is mandatory for this position, as effective communication in both languages is essential for the role. Knowledge of additional languages may be considered an asset but is not required.

Additional Notes:
The Information Management Officer position is based in Jerusalem or the West Bank and is classified as Grade (05) Step (01). The contract duration is 12 months, with the possibility of renewal based on the needs of the position, available funding, and performance. The position is full-time, and the salary and benefits are based on the West Bank Duty Station.
