Job Overview:
The Community Project Coordinator for the Consortium Nashiriki plays a crucial role under the supervision of the Project Manager. This position is responsible for the optimal implementation of community connector projects prioritized by local communities, aimed at strengthening both horizontal and vertical social cohesion. The coordinator will oversee project activities, ensuring adherence to NRC policies and strategies, and will contribute to the development of project proposals and strategies related to protection against violence. The role requires managing a delegated portfolio of projects, ensuring high technical quality, and providing regular progress reports to the Project Manager. The coordinator will also engage with local authorities and key stakeholders to promote the rights of displaced persons and returnees, ensuring that projects effectively target the most vulnerable beneficiaries.

Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of the Community Project Coordinator include: drafting and producing manual and electronic reports on the progress of Nashiriki activities as requested by the supervisor or management; supervising field staff for the projects within their portfolio; ensuring compliance with NRC policies, manuals, and guidelines; contributing to the development of strategies and project proposals for protection against violence; managing and implementing the delegated project portfolio, including activities, budget, and project documentation; providing regular progress reports to the Project Manager; ensuring projects target beneficiaries in greatest need of protection; exploring and evaluating new and improved means of assistance; promoting and sharing ideas for improvement and necessary changes in activities; ensuring capacity building of project staff and transferring key skills; liaising and collaborating with local authorities and other key actors; promoting the rights of displaced persons and returnees in line with advocacy strategies; contributing to the development and implementation of the Nashiriki project, including initial and final assessments, tool and manual development, technical assessments, conflict-sensitive analysis, and research; coordinating community project team participation in mediation and conflict management activities; organizing community consultations to harmonize project prioritization and selection; supervising the organization of community assemblies for establishing execution committees for each community project; and working closely with the Protection and Mediation team to organize capacity building for committee members on governance principles, social cohesion, human rights basics, and micro-project management.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must possess the following professional skills and aptitudes: a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in civil engineering and shelter; prior professional experience in complex, unstable, and volatile contexts; at least 2 years of experience with an international NGO; experience in planning, implementing, and monitoring projects; specific technical knowledge in developing, implementing, and technically monitoring community projects; experience in community mobilization, local governance, and community-led development; technical knowledge and experience in behavior change processes in humanitarian contexts; knowledge of conflict-sensitive approaches and social cohesion; proficiency in Windows software, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; strong synthesis skills, excellent writing, and communication abilities in French and local languages of Ituri (Swahili, Lingala, Lendu, Hema); English is an asset; experience in conflict management and humanitarian mediation; experience in managing protection data information; good knowledge of data protection standards; solid experience in training and capacity building in protection technical areas with various stakeholders; experience in internal and external coordination and program representation; ability to work closely with other field staff across different sectors; and a positive, solution-oriented leader focused on team building, problem-solving, and supporting teams and beneficiary communities.

Educational Background:
The position requires a relevant educational background in fields related to civil engineering, social sciences, or a related discipline. Candidates should have formal education that supports their understanding of community project management and humanitarian principles.

Experience:
Candidates should have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in the field of expertise, particularly in civil engineering and shelter. Experience in complex and volatile contexts is essential, along with at least 2 years of experience working with an international NGO. The candidate should have a proven track record in planning, implementing, and monitoring projects, as well as experience in community mobilization and local governance.

Languages:
Proficiency in French is mandatory, along with strong communication skills in local languages of Ituri, including Swahili, Lingala, Lendu, and Hema. English is considered an asset, enhancing the candidate's ability to engage in international contexts and with diverse stakeholders.

Additional Notes:
