Job Overview: The position of UN Electrician involves ensuring the continuous operation of all air conditioning units and performing various electrical tasks and responsibilities under the direct supervision of the Building Maintenance Unit Supervisor within the Engineering Section. The role requires the installation, maintenance, and repair of all types of low-voltage electrical systems, including electrical circuits, distribution boards, conduits, lighting fixtures, appliances, control devices, fire alarms, motors, pumps, and electrical distribution networks. The Electrician will diagnose and resolve electrical faults in production, distribution, and interconnection systems, adhering to local and international safety standards. The position also entails inspecting electrical systems and components to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety codes, as well as testing circuits and equipment to ensure compatibility and safety. The Electrician will participate in feasibility studies for projects, design and size electrical production and distribution systems, and provide technical support for renewable energy projects, including solar panels and energy storage systems.
Duties and Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the UN Electrician include:
Installing, maintaining, and repairing low-voltage electrical systems and equipment.
Diagnosing and resolving electrical faults in production and distribution systems.
Inspecting electrical systems and components for hazards and compliance with safety codes.
Testing electrical circuits and equipment using various testing devices.
Updating electrical licenses and certifications as per government regulations.
Participating in feasibility studies and designing electrical systems.
Guiding and training workers in electrical installations and maintenance.
Supporting the installation and commissioning of renewable energy systems.
Providing technical support for electricity and renewable energy projects. 1
