Job Overview: The logistics-officer" style="border-bottom: 1px dotted #007bff !important;">Logistics Officer position is crucial for ensuring the effective management of logistics processes within the organization. This role involves organizing all logistics activities in compliance with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, guidelines, and donor regulations. The Logistics Officer will be responsible for managing the supply chain process, ensuring transparency and cost-efficiency in procurement, and providing training to project staff on logistics matters. The position requires a proactive approach to establishing proper filing systems for logistics documents and implementing internal controls to ensure compliance with NRC's Logistics Handbook. The Logistics Officer will also prepare tender documents and support the tender opening committee, contributing to the development of holistic and needs-based programs, including cash-based interventions. The role demands technical support in market surveys and assessments, as well as the preparation of status reports for management on a weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly basis.
Duties and Responsibilities: The Logistics Officer will manage procurement activities at the support office, including handling procurements requested from area and field offices. This includes managing closed tenders to ensure compliance with NRC and donor regulations, supporting area office teams in conducting local market assessments, and verifying procurement trackers daily. The officer will maintain electronic records of all correspondence related to purchase orders, requisitions, and Good Received Notes (GRN). Additionally, the Logistics Officer will support the tender opening committee in both online and manual processes and ensure the inclusion of cash-based interventions in country and area-based strategies. In terms of warehouse and stock management, the officer will support the warehouse team to ensure effective storage and distribution of stock, monitor project stock levels, and oversee stock management to enforce minimum standards. The officer will also assist in preparing analysis and reports on inventory tracking and movements, oversee routine physical stock counts, and ensure proper receipt and reconciliation of stocks transferred between locations. Regarding asset management, the Logistics Officer will assist in maintaining a centralized assets register, ensuring all assets are logged and tracked, and managing the disposal of assets according to NRC/donor regulations. Lastly, the officer will support the management of fleet operations to ensure cost-efficient and reliable transport services, coordinating timely delivery of supplies to projects.
Required Qualifications: The ideal candidate for the Logistics Officer position should possess a BA Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of experience working as a logistician in a humanitarian or recovery context is required. The candidate should have documented results related to the responsibilities of the position and demonstrate fluency in English, both written and spoken. Additionally, the candidate should be willing to travel to remote areas and work flexibly, including weekends, and be prepared to live in basic conditions.
Educational Background: Candidates must have a BA Degree in Logistics and Supply Chain Management or a similar field.
